Customer rents from Budget Suriname the car described on the rental document and agrees to the terms stated below and in the rental agreement
Car must be returned on the date indicated on rental document. Or must be returned sooner if demanded by Budget Suriname. Car must be returned to agreed return location as specified on rental document. Special charges may be applied if customers fail to do so.
Rental charges consist of the length of time the car is rented plus if applicable
the number of miles in excess. Minimum rental is one day (24 hours)
Minimal rental period is 24 hours. 1-2 day rentals have a limited mileage of 150 km per day.
Budget Suriname has three rental
locations where customers can check out or check in. For the airport location, reservations should be made 24 hours in advance. An airport fee is applicable.
Driver needs a valid license of country of origin and a valid international driver license.
Cars are checked out with a full tank of gas. They should be returned with a full tank of gas. Otherwise a refueling charge will be applied.
Cars are checked out clean. If at check in the cars are so dirty that they require an extra body wash, or engine wash or extra interior cleaning this will be charged to the customer.
Anyone driving the car as permitted by this agreement will be protected against liability for causing bodily injury or death to others or damaging the property of someone other than the driver and/or the renter up to the minimum financial responsibility limits required by applicable law. Budget Suriname will not provide (A) coverage for fines, penalties, punitive or exemplary damages, (B)coverage of bodily injury to, or death of customer, driver or passenger, (C) defense against any claim after applicable limits of coverage that is furnished by Budget Suriname have been tendered.
Coverage on Budget car
The coverage is optional. Driver is fully responsible for the Budget vehicle. He can reduce this responsibility to a maximum of USD 400.00 for damage, when accepting LDW (Loss Damage Waiver). The fee per day is USD 7.00. Extra costs involved with an accident case are not covered by the USD 400.00 damage coverage.Such costs could be:
- claim cost imposed by insurance company
- towing cost for bringing vehicle back to agreed return location.
When declining LDW,driver is fully responsible for the total value of the car in case of an incident. Whether or not customer accepts or declines Loss Damage Waiver or not, customer is responsible for the loss or damage if he or an additional driver authorized or not:
- abuse the car or violate prohibited use or operation
- drive recklessly or while under influence of alcohol or controlled substance
- fail to promptly report an accident to the police and Budget Suriname
- fail to complete an accident report
- obtained car through fraud or misrepresentation
- use car for illegal purpose
- leave car and fail to remove the keys or close and lock all doors, close all window and the car is stolen or vandalized
Fines and Expenses
Customer will pay all fines, costs and recovery expenses for parking, traffic and other violations. Except those fines related to failure of Budget Suriname to abide by state imposed regulations and rules for vehicles.
Error in rental charges
The charges shown on the return record are not final and are subject to recalculation. Customer will pay any undercharges and will receive a refund for any overcharges discovered on review.
Prohibited use of car
Customer will not use or permit the car to be used to carry passengers or property for hire, to tow or push anything, to be operated in a test, race or contest or while under influence of alcohol or controlled substance or for illegal purpose, including transportation of an controlled substance or contraband. Customer will not abuse or misuse vehicle or drive it recklessly or in such a way that unnecessary damage is inflicted to vehicle. A violation of this paragraph automatically terminates the rental and makes customer liable to Budget for all penalties, fines, forfeitures, liens and recovery and storage costs, including all related legal expenses. Car is not permitted to be driven or transported outside the borders of Suriname. Some areas are off limits for specific or all car groups. Customer Service Representative will inform customer of these restrictions. Neglect of this information can result in additional costs for customer.
Repossessing the car
The car can be repossessed at any time if it is found illegally parked, being used in violation of the law or the terms of this agreement, or appears to be abandoned. Car can also be repossessed at any time when it is discovered that the customer obtained car through misrepresentation.
All charges, fees and expenses, including payment for loss of or damage to the car, are due on demand of Budget Suriname. Failure to do so will result in a late charge fee of 1.5% per month on the past due balance. Customer will be responsible for collection costs, including service charge for any check which is not honored by financial institutions. If the law permits, customer or employer of customer can be contracted at place of business about payment due.
Charge card reserve
It is customary that customer credit,
up to an amount of the estimated total charges due under this agreement, may be set aside or reserved by the charge card issuer whose card customer represents in payment of rental
Property in the car
Budget Suriname is not responsible for loss or damage to any property
left in or on the car by customer.
